If you have never heard of a Greater Mountain Swiss Dog before, that's understandable considering how rare they are. They are in the same family as the Bernese Mountain Dog, but Swissys live longer, healthier lifespans and have shorter, easier to maintain coats. Imagine the biggest personality you can, and then times that by 10 and you get Shadow. Shadow got her name the first day we brought her home by being our Shadow, and she has lived up to that name every day since. On her first day here as an 8-week-old puppy, she attacked a snake, barked and growled at all the bigger dogs, and stole their bones. Shadow is our first female Swissy here at Rolling Hills. We have fell in love with this breed and their bold and confident demeanor. Owning a Swissy takes someone with giant breed experience, along with the time, space, and patients to train one. Good things come to those who wait, and that is the mindset you should have before getting a swissy. They are bold and confident, therefor slightly stubborn. They will test your authority and will need consistent training but will turn into your biggest, most loyal, snuggly friend. In the right environment, Swissys are wonderful family pets, protectors, and all-around dogs.

We have huge expectations for Banjo. He was imported to us from Poland at 12 weeks old. Our goal was to achieve the truest Swiss bloodline attainable for our Kennel. Banjo's dad weighed 150 pounds and was the Grand Champion of Poland. His mother was 120 pounds and was the junior Grand Champion of Poland. We cannot wait to see what Banjo produces as our first Greater Mountain Swiss Stud male here at Rolling Hills.
